Brian Donovan who has been an active dirt rider racing with the EAST COAST ENDURO ASSOSIATION (consisting of 21 different clubs located in NJ, NY, PA & DE) since the late 90’s. Brian has an assortment of bikes but you can usually find him getting dirty every Sunday on his 2008 Honda 450R or Husqvarna WR300. He runs in the “B” Senior class (40 yr old +) and depending on the course will also ride Enduro (5 hour trail ride with check points in route) or a Hare Scramble (2 hour continuous loop).
Under all that mud is Brian’s Honda 450R which had just completed the Delaware II Hare Scramble in which he finished second after starting from dead last. He would have easily had a first, however suffered a “poor start” that put him at the back of the pack.
When he’s not dirt riding or racing through the woods of South Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware or New York, Brian spends his days working as the service manager at Cross Country Cycle in Metuchen, NJ. Brian is very knowledgeable on most bikes and can be reached at the store (732-635-0094) should anyone have any questions about the club or its activities.
Brian encourages anyone who rides a dirt bike to join the club (ECEA.ORG), check the race schedule, come down to an event and see what class their bike will run in. The events run from March through November and most riding areas are within an hour from most points in NJ.
